Primary Membranous Nephropathy - what do we know today?

Introduction: Primary membranous nephropathy (PMN) is a common cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults, characterized by the deposition immune complexes glomerular basement membrane.
 Aim this study: evaluate features PMN such as incidence, pathology, clinical and assess effectiveness immunosuppressive therapy.
 Materials Methods: The review was based on articles found PubMed database, using keyword „primary nephropathy” with appropriate sufixes.
 Results: challenging disease that requires multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis management. Laboratory tests, including assessment autoantibodies complement levels, are essential for PMN. Immunosuppressive therapy can be effective inducing remission significant proportion patients.
 Conclusions: Further research needed optimize duration intensity therapy, role newer therapies rituximab belimumab.
